Founder & Academy Director
Photos Kallias
Photos Kallias is a former professional tennis player, former Cyprus national team captain and experienced coach, bringing together international playing experience, player development and coach education.
A winner of professional singles and doubles titles, Photos reached numerous finals across both disciplines. His career includes victories over Martin Kližan, Albert Ramos-Viñolas, Pablo Andújar and Lukáš Lacko. In doubles, he also defeated a partnership featuring future Grand Slam champion Jean-Julien Rojer, who later formed part of the world’s top-ranked doubles team.
Photos represented Cyprus in the Davis Cup from 2001 to 2010 alongside Marcos Baghdatis, before serving as Davis Cup captain in 2015 and Fed Cup captain in 2016–2017.
His coaching and player development experience includes Sonja Zhiyenbayeva, who developed at the academy, reached world junior No. 15 and progressed into the WTA singles top 400; Laurent Recouderc, former ATP world No. 124; Eliza Omirou, who reached a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 1,008, No. 4 in Tennis Europe U14 and No. 140 in the ITF junior rankings; and Nina Andronicou, who developed at the academy and achieved an ITF junior ranking of No. 168.
The academy has also helped more than 15 players secure college tennis placements, supporting their progress in both sport and education.
As an ITF and PTR tutor, Photos also educates fellow coaches. His experience as a professional player, national team captain and academy director gives him a broad understanding of the pathway from learning the game to competing internationally.
At the academy, his approach combines technical foundations, tactical awareness and mental resilience with a lasting enjoyment of tennis. His aim is to help every player build confidence, fulfil their potential and progress towards their individual goals.
